I’ve been chatting with a lot of entrepreneurs preparing for a launch (12 last week alone), and one thing that always surprises me is this:
Most of them believe they have to have a complicated strategy – complete with videos, emails, affiliates, and more – in order to have a successful launch.
And in most cases, that is simply not true.
It’s what they’ve been told they must do because let’s be honest, no one is going to buy a product that teaches how to launch from where you are right now.
You’ve already got everything you need to launch – right now.
And here’s why you should open your cart sooner than later:
Reason #1: You won’t get the feedback you need to improve your message until you put it out there into the world.
If you are a first-time launcher, chances are your message hasn’t been honed yet. And that’s okay. Promoting yourself and your brand to a larger audience is a great way (well, the only way) to test how aligned your message is with what your audience wants. Up until this point, you are just guessing. Yes, you may have talked to dozens of prospects to see how they would phrase their challenges and describe their desires. But until someone actually here’s what you are selling and makes a purchase, you can’t be certain what you are saying truly creates action. And moving people to take action is exactly what launches are all about.
Reason #2: You can’t test the conversion of your sales funnel until people are moving through it.
Buying is an emotional process, so it is important to take your prospects through very specific stages to get them from not interested to curious to intrigued to must have. This process could involve a variety of tools, from emails to videos to webinars to freebies. And you should have a good idea of what your people need to know, do, and believe in order to say yes to your offer. But until someone goes through the process, it is just a guess. Launching gives you numbers and the opportunity to see where the process can be strengthened.
Reason #3: You can’t put off until tomorrow what you do today.
I get that’s not exactly the way the quote goes, but it here is what I mean: When you launch today (or this week) you can no longer keep procrastinating. Sometimes we have to jump and then build the plane as we are falling. Starting the launch process is the best way to finish the launch process. If you’ve been putting off your launch, stop delaying and open that cart. Today.
Now, there are just as many good reasons to NOT launch today, but here’s my advice to you: Take one action step TODAY to move your launch forward. It could be a sales conversation to sell them into the program, or running Facebook ads to a new free offer so you can start growing your list or sending a teaser email to your list letting them know you are working on something super cool.
One step today. Then another step tomorrow. Then another step. And another.
And before you know it, you will have completed your very first launch.
